What is a custom guitar?
A custom guitar is an
instrument built specifically to meet the individual requirements
of the musician's physical dimensions and ear, much like an expertly
tailored suit of clothes. Body measurements, including arm and hand
size, overall physical dimensions, as well as the intended style
of play are applied to produce an instrument specifically crafted
to fit the owner.
Unlike mass produced
guitars, Jaket instruments use wood carefully selected for its sound
quality, and special attention is given to the tuning of individual
parts to achieve a harmonious whole.
Why
are Jaket Guitars special?
Size, shape, wood selection and decorative inlays
are united with the goal of meeting the client's unique needs -
creating a truly one-of-a-kind instrument. Jaket guitars are braced
with the same high-strength graphite used in NASA's Space Shuttle
program and in the F-16 fighter aircraft. The graphite - nine times
stronger than steel - provides greater strength with less weight,
and the carbon fiber transmits sound 11 times faster than aged spruce,
providing better midrange and crisper treble sounds. Dependability
enhances the value of the warranty.
Attention to design basics is the distinguishing characteristic
of all of our instruments.
- Balance is utilized to provide visual equilibrium and
to complement the player's physical characteristics.
- Proportion between the parts is carefully thought out,
creating a visually appealing and responsive whole.
- Rhythm is evident in the visual aesthetics,as well as
the musical presentation of the instrument.
- The contrast of the shape, woods and inlay provide a visual
and aural emphasis.
- All of these design elements are blended to provide a visual
and musical unity.
The relationship between mass, rigidity, and resonance is of paramount
importance, as are the materials used to bring out the desired sound
characteristics of the instrument.
"The true beauty of wood is not only its obvious beauty,
but the sound it makes." -Greg Jackson
